Toyota recall models do not include fuel-efficient hybrids

The Toyota accelerator recalls, which Yahoo! News has covered extensively, grew more extensive Tuesday, when Toyota announced that it would stop selling eight cars affected by the accelerators-that-stick problem: The 2009-2010 RAV4, 2009-2010 Corolla, 2009-2010 Matrix, 2005-2010 Avalon, certain 2007-2010 Camrys, 2010 Highlander, 2007-2010 Tundra, and the 2008-2010 Sequoia.

10 GW of wind power installed in U.S. last year

With all of the conflict over Cape Wind and the constant reduction in scope of T. Boone Pickens’ wind projects, it’s easy to feel discouraged, but here’s something to lift your spirits.  Great news came from the American Wind Energy Association today.

Target to stop selling this controversial food

Big-box retailer Target has already won accolades from greens for being out front in stocking sustainable fashion and phasing out toxic PVC plastics from products. Now, the Minnesota-based company has announced that it has eliminated all farmed salmon from its fresh, frozen, and smoked seafood offerings in its stores nationwide.

This announcement includes Target-owned brands — Archer Farms and Market Pantry — as well as national brands.
